Sleep Out so a young person has a safe place to call home

Suffolk Sleep Out 2023 – Friday 13th October: Ipswich Town Football Club, Portman Rd, Ipswich IP1 2DA

Sleep Out is our flagship, mass-participation fundraising event, which challenges you to help end youth homelessness by spending one night sleeping outside. The money you raise helps young people across Norfolk and Suffolk, who may not have had the best start in life, into safe homes and provides the opportunity for successful futures.

We want to end youth homelessness and we’re tackling the problem locally by providing a home and support to almost 250 young people each night. Each year we provide over 70,000 safe nights accommodation.

The Benjamin Foundation’s Sleep Out has raised over £300,000 to support young people in Norfolk and Suffolk since 2015.

Your Sleep Out fundraising in 2023 could help more young people in Norfolk and Suffolk to take their next steps to independence. Whether you’re part of a business looking for a unique Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunity, a group of friends, or an individual hoping to make a big impact in your local community, you can join dozens of other like-minded businesses and individuals in this amazing challenge. Book your place at Sleep Out 2023 today!

Fundraising

Fundraising is an important element of your Sleep Out challenge. We provide a safe home and support almost 250 young people in Norfolk and Suffolk each night, so we’re asking you to set a fundraising target of £200 for your Sleep Out challenge.

We know that many people raise a lot more by gaining sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues. But don’t worry if you don’t reach £200 – whatever you raise will make a difference. We are here to help you every step of the way with inspiration, hints and tips, and support.

We use JustGiving – a trusted and well-known fundraising website – for Sleep Out fundraising. This means your friends and family can sponsor you quickly and easily online. JustGiving can even collect Gift Aid, which means we could receive an additional 25% at no extra cost to you or those who sponsor you.

Please register for Norfolk Sleep Out before setting up your online fundraising page.

  • Plenty of warm, waterproof clothing, including a hat, scarf and gloves
  • A sleeping bag (and something to keep it dry in the event of rain)
  • Cardboard to sleep on
  • We do provide some snacks but you may wish to bring some of your own

Quote Marks Left Oftentimes, young people can find themselves in disadvantaged or even dangerous situations through no fault of their own, and it's vital to have an organisation such as The Benjamin Foundation offering a lifeline to these kids. Although the school holidays would normally be the best time for business in our cafe, we'd like to dedicate the final day of the Christmas school holidays towards supporting the Foundation. We hope the money raised from this event to produce a real positive outcome for youths in the future.
