We provide childcare to children in a safe, supportive environment which gives their parents peace of mind.

Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in July 2017, Ditchingham Day Nursery provides childcare in a lovely rural setting just two miles from Bungay on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

There’s a warm and welcoming environment to ensure children and their parents or carers feel safe, valued and happy, and we¬†provide activities to enhance children’s social and learning skills which cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage with¬† activities planned around the interests of the children.

We offer a lively and stimulating environment in which the children are actively encouraged to develop their social, physical and academic abilities. There’s indoor and outdoor play areas, designed to encourage children to develop their physical skills, to explore and learn about the world around them.

The Curiosity Approach is an accreditation that Ditchingham Day Nursery is working towards. This is a modern day approach that fits perfectly into current changing technological times, bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into early childhood and creating the ‘thinkers and doers of the future’. Learn more about The Curiosity Approach here.

Our curriculum builds on the children’s interests – developing their ideas and knowledge to broaden their experience. There’s also lots of work on numbers, letter sounds and pencil skills, plus stories, craft, drama, and music and we also introduce children to simple science and information technology. The daily routine carefully balances these activities with free play and time spent outdoors, including our popular Forest School Sessions.

Our cook produces healthy, nutritious meals, which are enjoyed in our separate dining room which create positive learning situations, with children encouraged to enjoy their food and to participate in preparing and cooking healthy meals and snacks.

All nursery staff are qualified to Level 3 and above and are fully DBS checked. Each child has their own key person who helps them settle in, talks with parents and liaises with their future school for a smooth transition. Parents are also updated with daily progress using latest technology.

Something which stood out from the other nurseries is how keen staff are to try new things and develop the facilities and activities.
