Ditchingham Day Nursery, Ditchingham
Ditchingham Day Nursery is located in a lovely rural setting just two miles from Bungay on the Norfolk – Suffolk border. The nursery offers a warm and welcoming environment for all children and their parents/carers where everyone will feel safe, valued and happy. We provide activities that we believe will enhance children's social and learning skills. We cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and all of our activities are planned around the interests of the children.
Each day the children have opportunities to play and explore in our indoor and outdoor play areas. These have been designed to encourage children to develop their physical skills and learn about the world around them using an extensive range of equipment and carefully planned activities. The nursery offers a lively and stimulating environment in which the children are actively encouraged to develop their social, physical and academic abilities. There is lots of work on numbers, letter sounds and pencil skills, plus stories, craft, drama, music. Children are also introduced to simple science and information technology. The daily routine incorporates these activities with free play and time spent outdoors to provide a happy, healthy balance. There is also the opportunity to spend some time relaxing quietly.
The nursery has its own cook, who produces healthy nutritious meals in our separate dining room. Meal and snack times are used to encourage independent personal skills and to create positive learning situations. Children are encouraged to enjoy their food and to participate in preparing and cooking healthy meals and snacks.
Children attending Ditchingham Day Nursery are offered a curriculum that builds on their interests, developing their ideas and knowledge to broaden their experience. Each child has their own key person who helps them settle in, talks with parents and liaises with their future school for a smooth transition.
All nursery staff are qualified to level 3 and above and are fully DBS checked.
In 2011, Ditchingham Day Nursery became part of The Benjamin Foundation. By choosing our nursery to care for your child, you are also supporting our wider work with children, young people and families.
