Housing for Children in Care and Care Leavers
Designed for young people in Care and Care Leavers up to 19 years of age in Suffolk, this service provides accommodation that is safe and affordable, comprising of supervised accommodation with support available onsite, and supported accommodation with flexible support, both with support available up to 24 hours per day according to needs.
How We Help
The aim of this service is to provide support according to the needs of the young people we accommodate, which is flexible and mutually agreed. We enable every young person to become more independent, helping to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to sustain independent living and make a successful transition to adulthood.
Specifically, we help our young people develop positive self-esteem, create their personal support network, and be part of their community. We also help them improve life skills like budgeting, cooking, and personal healthcare, prepare for higher education and work, meet their health and identity needs, and know their entitlements for support.
We ensure care leavers are fully involved in the planning and delivery of the services we provide, and their wishes and preferences are taken account of.

The Benjamin Foundation’s Housing for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children works in accordance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and is registered with Ofsted, as it accommodates children in care and care leavers.
