Meet Up

Meet Up, on Thetford’s Redcastle Furze Estate, aims to tackle significant community wellbeing issues, inequalities, mental health, and social problems. Established in 2010, it especially seeks to raise young people’s aspirations and ambitions and support them in reaching their life goals.

Meet Up works with local people to improve their life situation by strengthening their skills, self-esteem, health, and resilience via a range of personal development, learning and support groups, and one to one support services. It also brings other agencies in to provide support and activities, as well as signposting people to specialist advice and support services. Meet Up’s goal is to enable positive, lasting, and sustainable change in the lives of the local communities it serves.

Current Weekly Programme

Tuesday

11 am-1 pm: Wellbeing Coffee Morning – A calm adult only (18+) environment for anyone who needs a safe space for discussion, peer support and to help improve mental health and wellbeing through art-based activities.

3.30-5 pm: Youth Club – School Year 4

Wednesday

9.30-11 am: Parent & Toddler Group – A friendly and free group for children from 0-5 years old where you can make new friends and take part in fun activities with your child or children. Parents, Carers, Grandparents, and others are all welcome! Refreshments will be provided.

Thursday

11 am-1 pm: Senior Citizens Wellbeing Group – Come and meet new friends in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Ages 60+

3.30-5 pm: Youth Club – School Years 5 and 6

5.30-7 pm: Drop In – School years 7 to 11

Friday

Counselling Service – A face to face service for adults (18+) who need additional support to help deal with a mental health condition, a difficult life event, difficult emotions or other topics such as sexual identity.
