Specialist Short Breaks

Commissioned by Norfolk County Council and delivered by The Benjamin Foundation, our Specialist Short Breaks groups offer opportunities for young people with needs and disabilities to make friends and develop their skills. Set up across Norfolk, these activity groups encourage children and young people to have fun in safe and relaxed spaces.

We have a group in Attleborough, one in King’s Lynn and a third one in Fakenham. We use complex need schools premises in each location with access to soft play, sensory room, outdoor space, library, cookery room and so much more.

We offer sessions throughout the year, including one Saturday a month and school holiday sessions. Each session is open 9.30am-3.30pm, and we support an age range of 8-17 years.

A range of indoor and outdoor activities will always be available. We also have the use of various specialist rooms including outdoor play areas, sensory room, kitchen (cooking), messy play and a library.

We believe in involving children and young people in influencing the group sessions so they are heard, valued and respected and gain a greater benefit from the sessions.

The team consists of Senior Practitioners, Practitioners and Support Workers who are fully supported by a Team Leader. All the teams are trained and experienced in working with children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.

Support the Extra Activities Fund!

We are fundraising to offer the children activities they would not normally have access to such as a circus skills class, a visit from mini donkeys, pottery sessions, and much more.

Your kind and generous donation will go towards a worthy cause!
