SHPS (Sustainable Housing Partnership Service)
A service helping people in Kings Lynn and West Norfolk reduce their risk of homelessness. It focuses on tenancy support, helping 18+ singles, couples and families to successfully maintain a tenancy or find suitable accommodation. Â
We are proud to also be working with Social Prescribing Teams across West Norfolk and Kings Lynn, along with Early Help hubs. We also take self-referrals & provide guidance and advice to Private Sector Landlords.

The SHPs service will aim to produce a personalised Housing & Well-being plans for all customers with a focus on tenancy support, helping them to successfully maintain that tenancy or supporting them to seek suitable accommodation. This longer term support (over a period of 11 months) will act as a platform for building successful futures and helping local people reduce their risk of homelessness.
Service Eligibility
- To be eligible to receive support through the SHPS project, customers should:
- Be threatened with homelessness
- Be eligible for assistance as defined by the Housing Act
- Have a local connection
- Have low to medium support needs (i.e. is able to maintain a tenancy)
- Consent to the referral

We work with with individuals, landlords and other community services, to meet the needs of those in accommodation who have been identified as displaying behaviours that if escalated could result in a loss of that accommodation/tenancy.
We will work with
- Adults aged 18 years and over, (singles, couples and families) who have agreed to a referral to our service
- Currently in accommodation and displaying behaviours that if not addressed could result in a loss of accommodation (does not need to have been served a formal notice)
- Able to manage a tenancy independently with minimal support/a short intervention
- Not eligible for support under the Care Act (as would qualify for support from the NIHCS service)
- Not already homeless/likely to be accepted a Relief Duty
