Supported Lodgings
Our Supported Lodgings, also known as ‘Heart and Home’, are made up of a network of hosts across Norfolk and Suffolk. These incredible hosts offer a bedroom, support, empathy and understanding to young people from 16 years old, providing them with stability and a safe place to live. Hosts help the young people to build important life skills such as cooking, shopping and budgeting money, as well as supporting their education, training and career.Â
Contact
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions! Please note that referrals into this service for young people come through Children’s Services and Leaving Care teams from the local authority, and self-referral is not possible.
Why Become a Host?
Our hosts receive full training, both one-to-one and online, as well as ongoing support from a dedicated Placement Coordinator. The experience of being a host is rewarding in a variety of ways, from seeing the great impact you can have on a young person’s life, teaching and passing on skills, and learning new things yourself.
Our lives have been better for knowing each of these young people, their circumstance, and wherever they're going...
You're not expected to be an expert, you get a lot of support from The Benjamin Foundation. There's definitely a sense of everyone being a team around the young person.
Heart & Home Supported Lodgings works in accordance with the Supported Accomodation (England) Regulations 2023 and is registered with Ofsted, as it accommodates children in care and care leavers aged 16 and 17 .
