Emotional Wellbeing Support
We deliver a range of services to support children, young people and families facing a wide range of challenges.
We help children and young people to talk about their feelings in order to build their self-confidence and resilience. By helping at an early stage, our work aims to prevent more serious problems arising in the future.
Butterflies Emotional Wellbeing provides sessions in local communities for young people aged 5 to 18, which are paid for by the parent or carer.
Reasons for referral are usually very varied but may include general self esteem issues, anxiety, friendship issues, bereavement, and family relationship breakdown. Our Support Workers are experienced at working with different ages of children and supporting their emotional well-being by using a range of activities.
There is an initial £25 first session fee, which includes a telephone call to discuss the referral. After that, the Butterflies service costs £20 per half hour session of face to face delivery (bought in advance as a block of 6) and this encompasses all associated costs.
The service is currently available after school in four centres across Norfolk; Our Head Office in central Norwich, our Aspire housing centre in Great Yarmouth, our Winston Court housing centre in North Walsham, and our Walmington Court housing centre in Thetford.
Time for You is a dedicated service in schools offering support, advice and guidance for children and young people. It helps to strengthen their emotional and social well-being, increasing their self-esteem and helping them to recognise their ‘inner wealth’.
By helping at an early stage, Time for You aims to prevent more serious problems arising at a later stage.
Children are referred to Time for You by their school with parental consent.
Parenting isn’t an easy job and at times things can get tough. Our Parent Support Advisers are here to help parents and families to deal with any worries they may have.
This could involve supporting parents to help their child get the best from school life, offering support with meetings with teachers and other professionals, supporting school attendance, and help in preventing difficult behaviour from becoming more of a problem.
Parent Support Advisers can also help by signposting to services and other agencies for help with specific problems, and can meet either at school or at home – whichever is more convenient, and always at a time that suits you.
Our advisors are based in schools, and your child may be eligible if your school has set-up a service level agreement with The Benjamin Foundation.

I like the support, because it has helped me cope with worries and believe in myself.
