Civic Charity of the Year

The Benjamin Foundation are excited to share that they have been chosen as the Civic Charity of the Year by the Lord Mayor of Norwich and the Sheriff of Norwich.

Each year, the incoming Lord Mayor and Sheriff choose to support a local charity, raising awareness of their work through a variety of events and activities throughout the year, such as the Lord Mayor’s Procession happening on the 12th and 13th July. This year’s representatives, Lord Mayor Vivien Thomas, and Sheriff Sirajul Islam, pledge their commitment to supporting the city’s young people, with money raised from the Civic Office’s campaign going towards supporting our Young Carers service. Boom! provides positive activities through specialist groups running throughout the year along with trips, visits, and activities in school holidays. These groups develop confidence, independence and give the opportunity to try new experiences. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of the Lord Mayor, recognising our work and impact in Norwich, and providing us with the opportunity to showcase our Boom! Young Carers service. We look forward to all the great activities and positive outcomes which result from this campaign over the next year.”
