New Youth Group for Breckland

We are pleased to be setting up a new Friday youth group for children and young people in and around Watton. There will be two sessions, one for ages 8-11 and one for 12-17, with the group kicking off on Friday 16th April with a ‘taster’ session and a chance for young people to bring their ideas and suggestions and shape the group as they want it.

The Watton Youth Group will be led by Youth Support Worker Cyan Fullbrook, who says:

“It’s been such a difficult year for young people, they’ve missed out on so much. The Benjamin Foundation is thrilled to be able to start up this group and I am looking forward to working with young people in Watton. This will be a fantastic group for them.”

The group will run during term time from 4:30pm – 6pm for ages 8 – 11 years and from 6:30pm – 8pm for ages 12 – 17 years and will meet at the Watton Youth and Community Centre on Harvey Street, which is run by the Charlotte Harvey Trust. The Chair of the Trust Pat Warwick says:

“After such a tough year it’s great to have something positive on the horizon.  We are very pleased to work with The Benjamin Foundation and provide a venue for a group that will help the young people of the town”.

Watton Youth Group will provide young people with new opportunities to have fun, socialise and boost self-esteem, as well as accessing support if required and forming healthy peer relationships to support development and increase confidence.  The team are very grateful for support from: Geoffrey Watling Charity, Breckland Council, Wayland Agricultural Society, Norfolk Community Foundation, Silk Purse Fund and TUI whose support has made the group possible.

For more information please contact Cyan Fullbrook on 07817 014002.

Quote Marks Left The Benjamin Foundation have helped me gain independence, confidence, self-esteem and I have discovered more about myself. They have given me great opportunities and I am ever so grateful to be a part of it. If it wasn’t for them I don’t know where I’d be today. Thank you for shaping my life and giving me hope for a future.
