Finding a Voice Exhibition
The Compass Outreach Service is a partnership between The Benjamin Foundation, Norfolk and Suffolk (NHS) Foundation Trust (NSFT) and Norfolk County Council. It provides therapeutic and intensive family support services to families who have been referred by Children's Services.
We were delighted that Katherine Gilmartin, Artist and Mental Health Activist, decided to raise awareness of the work that the Compass Outreach Service does by holding an art exhibition and workshops for professionals through the Finding a Voice project (FAV18). The FAV project is committed to making positive changes to mental health in Norfolk and Suffolk.
The exhibition was designed to be an environment with versatile opportunities for teams. Katherine also offered a workshop designed to explore specific themes in areas over a spectrum of professional practice; domestic abuse, sexual violence, childhood trauma, attachment and service user experience to provide rare insight into the client experience of different professional approaches.
"I wanted to bring a different collection of people together." Katherine explains.
"There's so much scope for developing and learning from human experiences - more than can be learnt from a text book."
Held at Anteros Arts Foundation in Norwich, the exhibition and workshops ran from 16th to 26th October. Thank you to Katherine and all involved with FAV18 for their support.
