The Benjamin Foundation runs a number of youth-focused services in the Watton area whose main purpose is to support young people in overcoming issues of social isolation and improve their emotional well-being.

The Awards for All grant secured allows the charity to continue delivering support in the area. The Benjamin Foundation are combining their local youth and young carers groups to maximise the opportunities that arise from bringing together the skills of the teams who ran the previously separate groups.

Speaking on the value of the new Watton Youth and Young Carers Project, Alice Stevenson (Young Carers Development Manager, The Benjamin Foundation) said:

This is a great opportunity for the youth of Watton to be able to come together. For the Young Carers we support there is going to be extra strength through the joint group to help break down any isolation that comes from being a carer. Through this collaboration of the two groups, I am looking forward to continuing to support young people in Breckland.

The project marks a new approach by The Benjamin Foundation to ensure it can continue to provide valuable support, and create new opportunities for children, young people and families. It is only possible thanks to the support from The National Lottery Community Fund.
