Forward Court, Aylsham
Forward Court in Aylsham opened in May 2014 it provides supported accommodation for seven young homeless people age 16 to 24. The Benjamin Foundation works in partnership with Victory Housing and Broadland District Council to deliver the service. Referrals for the accommodation come from Broadland District Council. There is provision for two 16 to 17 year olds at any one time.
Each young person has their own flat at Forward Court; each flat is fully furnished. The flats are designed to give the young people the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to manage their own tenancy independently which is the long term aim of the service. In addition to their own flat, the young people have the use of a comfortable lounge, fully equipped kitchen where they can socialise and be supported in practical cooking skills.
We are staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week by staff. Each young person is allocated a key worker who will work alongside to offer support tailored to the individual's needs. This can and will cover areas such as education, training/employment, daily life skills, inclusion in the local community and building a stable foundation from which to progress on to independent living.
In addition to working with Broadland District Council The Benjamin Foundation works closely with Victory Housing to ensure when ready, the young people move on to secure and affordable accommodation. Our aim is that when young leave Forward Court they will be more confident and successfully live independent.
