At The Benjamin Foundation, we have been carefully considering the implications of the Covid-19 (also known as Coronavirus) for the people who use our services, staff and volunteers and continue to follow the latest advice and guidance from the UK Government. Our teams are dealing with this unprecedented situation with their usual dedication and care. We appreciate all efforts in keeping everyone involved with The Benjamin Foundation informed and safe.

We are committed to taking every step possible to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and the people who use our services, therefore we encourage everyone to continue to check the GOV.UK website for the very latest public advice.

As a result, there are some temporary disruptions to some of our services:

Meet Up Youth and Community Centre, Thetford: 

Meet Up will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 18th March. Staff will be in touch with service users as appropriate, but you can also check the Meet Up Facebook page for updates.

If you want to chat to somebody at Meet Up call between 10.00-12.00 on Tuesdays on 07872 407400 (or text and we will call you back).  We’d love to hear from you.

The Meet Up book swap will also be open from 10.00-12.00 on Tuesday – please bring your pre-loved books to Meet Up and swap them for something new.  Books for all ages.  We will be operating this on a one in/one out basis and if necessary ask you to wait outside observing the 2 metre social distancing rule.


Young Carers Groups: 

Boom! Young Carers (Watton and Stalham) – groups are taking place online until social distancing restrictions are lifted. Our Norwich group launch will be delayed and no longer take place in May.

The Benjamin Foundation Young Carers Services in partnership with Carers Matter Norfolk – all groups will cease until government advice changes and social distancing and isolation is lifted. Face to face 1:1 support for young carers will also cease. We will continue to offer support to the young carers through emails, activities, video calls, phone calls, and text messages.

Youth West Youth Clubs in West Norfolk:

The Youth West group in Hunstanton resumed outside on Monday 15th June in small groups and with social distancing measures in place. There is also an Instagram page where young people can message and keep in touch. For more information please contact


Butterflies Emotional Wellbeing Service:

Sessions have been cancelled at all venues.

Childcare at Ditchingham Day Nursery, Kidzone and Town Tots – North Walsham:

Town Tots and Ditchingham Day Nursery opened Monday June 1st offering priority to key workers and children going to school in September. Times and sessions will vary from regular sessions to stagger drop off and collection times and also children will be in smaller groups.

Childcare at Dussindale After School and Breakfast Club:

Our Childcare setting at Dussindale After School and Breakfast Club (DAB) will remain closed until September.


Housing and Homelessness Accommodation Services:

Continuing as normal but no external visitors.


Norwich, Dereham, Holt Furniture Stores and Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds Re-use Shops:

With teams currently working remotely, our Head Office is closed. will continue to be monitored during this time.
