Our Dereham Furniture Store welcomed 25 people to a 3-hour Annie Sloan chalk paint demonstration, delivered by Nick Spencer from The Rocky Crystal.

Taking place on Friday 29th March, this event was the first of its kind for the Dereham store and it proved to be a big success with visitors enthralled by the demonstration, which included learning how to use different types of paint and techniques using wax and blending.

Having recently supported The Benjamin Foundation by a restoring a wardrobe, which was then raffled to raise money for our charity, Furniture Artist Nick was pleased to deliver the workshop. He also donated items to the shop that he restored during the session.

Dereham Furniture Store Manager, Paul Sinclair says: “We were delighted to welcome so many people to this free demonstration, which offered plenty of hints and tips. I hope everyone who came along learned some new tricks and can have fun recreating some of the ideas at home! A huge thank you to Nick from The Rocky Crystal for sharing his knowledge and expertise.”

All of our furniture stores sell good quality used furniture, new white goods and new beds at competitive prices. The profit the stores generate helps to fund our work with local children, young people and families.

Dereham Furniture Store will be planning more events, including workshops to enable people to transform a piece of furniture, in the near future.

To enquire about future workshops, please contact the store on 01362 692392 or visit the shop on the Rashes Green Industrial Estate.

I enjoy doing it. It's a good cause. I can't run marathons or jump out of planes so I do this. The money raised provides ongoing help. It equips young people for life after The Benjamin Foundation.
