Sandringham Country Park confirmed as Butterfly Walk 2017 venue!
We’re pleased to announce our fourth annual Butterfly Walk fundraising event will take place at Sandringham Country Park on Sunday 25th June.
Each year we put on our Butterfly Walk at a different venue and this year it is the turn of West Norfolk to play host. The walk takes its name from our bright butterfly logo although you may well see butterflies on the route too! The Walk will follow one of Sandringham’s trails and is around 3 miles long taking you through the beautiful woodland. Along the route there will be signs with quiz questions for adults and children to answer with prizes for the best set of answers in each age group.
Chris Elliott, our marketing and fundraising manager explained how the funds would be used “As well as being a great way to spend a few hours with friends and family our Butterfly Walk is an important way of raising money. This year some of the funds will be used to help young people we work with in King’s Lynn. One of our services there, Butterfly House, provides a home and support to vulnerable young people aged between 16 and 24 years old including some with learning difficulties. Some extra funds will enable us to improve the garden area and purchase a shed to store the young people’s bikes securely.”
Clapham & Collinge Solicitors have kindly agreed to be the main sponsors of the Butterfly Walk. The firm have supported us for several years and are now backing this event as their marketing manager Louis Hilldrup-Boorman explained “At Clapham & Collinge, we take our corporate responsibility very seriously. We invest time, energy and money in supporting local charities and having seen the valuable work of the Foundation we wanted to support their main summer event.’’
In addition to the Walk there are lots of other things to see and do at Sandringham Country Park and we are very grateful to them for providing the venue. There are plenty of open spaces for picnics, a large children’s play area, restaurant, gift shop and also a farmers’ market.
