Norwich Sleep Out hits the 100 milestone
As we now find ourselves in November, it can only mean one thing – Sleep Out month has arrived!
We are also thrilled to have reached an important milestone and can announce that we now have 100 people who have signed up to take part in the Norwich event.
With teams from local businesses, including Mills & Reeve, Howes Percival, Clapham & Collinge, Victory Housing, Progress Recruitment, Norfolk Tweet Up, No 8 Thorpe Rd, Hugh J Boswell, and Fountain Partnership, as well as many individuals taking part, we are on track to exceed the 110 who registered in 2016, to acheive our biggest Sleep Out yet - all to raise money and awareness of the issue of youth homelessness.
Several of this year’s Sleep Out participants are also taking part in the challenge for the second or even third time. This is the third year of our Sleep Out events and the money raised will help to support our work locally.
Additionally, we are also really pleased to be holding our very first Sleep Out event in Ipswich on Friday 3rd November, which reflects the fact that we have now extended our work into Suffolk.
The events are not meant to be a comparison to the life a homeless person leads, and it will never replicate the hardship faced by those who are homeless, however, we want the events to bring to life the challenges of sleeping outside.
There’s still time to join the Ipswich Sleep Out on Friday 3rd November, or the Norwich 100 in the city’s Sleep Out on Friday 17th November.
