A welcome from Copperfield School
HOPE OPPORTUNITY STABILITY INDEPENDENCE
Copperfield School in Great Yarmouth is an Ofsted registered co-educational independent school offering places to up to 12 students with behavioural, emotional and/or social difficulties. Our aim is for students to leave the school embodying the values of The Benjamin Foundation. We want them to have HOPE about their future, have the OPPORTUNITY to progress in pursuing their ambitions, knowing they have had the STABILITY of a regular, rigorous school placement during what has been a troubled time in their lives and the INDEPENDENCE to move confidently into adulthood.
Please note that Sally Alden is no longer the Head teacher of Copperfield School. Details of our Interim Head teacher appointment will be posted here very soon. Despite Sally's departure we remain committed to the culture, ethos and strong educational values of Copperfield School and pupils will be supported, as always, to meet their academic and social and emotional goals.
Letter from the Chair of Governors:
"No two days are the same at Copperfield School; we embrace challenge and work patiently to achieve good results. We are proud of the students' achievements – large and small. The dedicated, hard-working staff team are with the students every step of the journey and go the extra mile to achieve success.
"We embrace challenge - with the support of the school's Governing body and staff from across The Benjamin Foundation, we are working tirelessly to improve our Ofsted grading (see below for more details).
We hope these web-pages give you a taste of what Copperfield School is achieving and what goes on at the school. If you would like to find out more, please get in touch."
Ofsted Monitoring Visit 9th May 2017.
We are pleased that the Ofsted Monitoring Visit that took place on 9th May recognised the significant progress Copperfield School has made over the last few months in response to the Inadequate grading received in October 2016. We are particularly pleased that Ofsted noted strong improvements in Welfare, Health and Safety of Students and Provision of Information where standards are now clearly met. We are also pleased that we have made marked progress towards meeting the other standards (Quality of Education and Leadership in and Management of Schools) and these will remain a key focus over the coming months.
